Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy Program (Professional):
Physiotherapists provide services that develop, maintain and restore people’s maximum movement and functional ability. They can help people at any stage of life, when movement and function are threatened by ageing, injury, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors. Physiotherapists help people maximize their quality of life, looking at physical, psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. They work in the health spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation.
Course Duration
The duration of the course is 5-years (Four professional years and 1-year internship). After passing the fourth professional examination, a candidate will have to undergo internship for a period of twelve months.
Aim of the course:
- To produce skilled Physiotherapy professionals who have the strong theoretical and practical knowledge required to assess and treat patients and evaluate progress.

Eligibility for Application:
- The applicant must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C) or the examination of equal status in science group with Biology, Physics and Chemistry without any grace mark and have to secure the grade point at least 7.0 (seven) in total. The candidate must have minimum grade point 3 (three) separately.
- However, the criteria cannot be contradictory to the rules and practice of Faculty of Medicine of the University of Dhaka.

Master of Science in Physiotherapy (Post- Professional):
The Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physiotherapy degree is designed to develop professionally competent, advanced academic clinicians with contemporary skills and knowledge to achieve success in the demanding health care setting. The M.Sc. in Physiotherapy is an advanced level practice orientated degree targeted to the physiotherapists who wish to pursue higher studies in the area of education, research, and clinical practice.
Aim of the course:
- To prepare professional physiotherapists with the advanced level skills needed for patient centered evidence-based practice, and to educate, lead, and conduct research.

Admission eligibility and procedure:
The candidates must have a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent degree from the Government recognized University. The candidates must have completed one-year internship training or related working experience in any recognized hospital or organization approved by the authority. An examination committee will be formed headed by the Dean, Faculty of Medicine;University of Dhaka. Candidates will be selected for the program on the basis of merit through assessment of previous academic records, admission test and experience. Admission test will be consisting of written and oral examinations or criteria set by the examination committee.

Answer: Using any title before the name of the professionals complies with the existing rules and regulations from the government. Q-3. Are Diploma holders eligible to admit in Bachelor Courses?
Answer: Faculty of Medicine of the University of Dhaka complies with the requirements of the Bachelor course stated in the Dhaka University ordinance. There are no such terms to comply with eligibility for Diploma medical technologists.
Q-4. How much cost and time is needed to complete a Bachelor's program?
Answer: The estimated cost for a Bachelor program can be collected from the institute’s office. The duration is stated as 5-years, it may be prolonged in case of university professional exam schedule.
Q-5. Can Bachelor degree holders have a government job?
Answer: Graduates find their employment in Rehabilitation Centers, Hospitals, Clinics, Special Needs Schools, Research projects, Academic institutes, Sports, Projects, Private Practice and different Government and Non-Government organizations.
There are employments in integrated disability service centers run by the Ministry of Social Welfare processed for revenue enrollment. The Bangladesh Rehabilitation Council Act 2018 has been passed by the government, the council is said to be responsible to register and regulate the therapy and rehabilitation professionals.
Moreover, the graduates are eligible to apply for BCS in general cadre categories.
